Approach
Hi, I’m Shelly. My approach with clients is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and meeting the individual where they’re at. I aim to create a safe, non-judgemental space where individuals feel supported to explore difficult experiences, build emotional awareness, and develop the confidence needed to navigate change and achieve their goals.
I work with individuals and families across a broad range of presentations and dynamics, drawing on evidence-based approaches and tailoring therapy to suit each person’s unique inner world and life phase. I believe therapy should feel relevant to real life, not removed from it, and I’m passionate about supporting clients to build skills that resonate and support long-term wellbeing, resilience, and self-understanding.
I hope to bring my warmth, authenticity, and a little light humour into my work, and I feel deeply privileged to walk alongside clients as they develop insight and change that feels meaningful and sustainable. I also conduct cognitive and psychometric assessments, which can be powerful tools for understanding and supporting the individual’s unique strengths and needs.
Outside of the therapy room, I have a deep love for surfing/the ocean, playing/creating music and you’ll mostly find me spending time with my family, friends, and their little ones. I place a strong value on community/meaningful connection, and I’m a big believer in tending to the village, investing in care and connection as something that strengthens individuals and communities over time. In many ways, this reflects how I approach my work with clients.
If you feel that we would be a good fit, please reach out. I understand the importance of finding someone who ‘just gets it’ and would love to take the time to get to know you and be that person for you.
