Client's Rights

Wellbeing Clinic psychologists are regulated by their professional body’s specific code of conduct. In addition we are informed by either the Australian Psychological Society’s (APS) code of ethics. These charters ensure that you are protected by a high standard of professionalism.

APS Charter for Client’s of Psychologist’s

  • You will be treated with respect
  • You will receive a clear explanation of the service you will receive
  • Your consent for any service will be sought by the psychologist prior to the service commencing and as it progresses
  • You will receive an explanation about the nature and limits of confidentiality surrounding the service
  • You will be clear about the goals that you and the psychologist are working toward
  • You will receive competent and professional service
  • You will receive a clear statement about fees
  • An estimate of the number of sessions required to achieve your goals will be discussed
  • You will receive a service free from sexual harassment
  • You will be shown respect for your cultural background and language tradition

4.2 Responsibilities to clients
4.2.1 Priority of clients’ interest

a) Social workers will maintain the best interests of clients as a priority, with due regard to the respective interests of others.
b) In exceptional circumstances, the priority of clients’ interests may be outweighed by the interests of others, or by legal requirements and conditions. In such situations clients should be made aware that their interests, or those of others, may be jeopardised.
